Bakery-Style Cranberry Orange Scones

Photo: K. Henriques

I made these Cranberry Scones ages ago so I thought it would be fun to try another recipe. I made these scones for a little Galentine’s Day brunch I hosted back in February and they were a hit!

This is a pretty standard scone recipe so nothing too difficult here. I did not have any cardamom but I did use the orange extract which I think added the nice orange flavor. I also used frozen cranberries since I usually have some on hand. Simple instructions and honestly the hardest part is making sure it’s not too dry or too wet (this is where I usually panic and make it worse). If the dough is just right then cutting the disc into triangles is much easier.

I really like scones because I feel like they have a lot of flavor without being overly sweet. There were a huge hit and I loved the fact that I could taste both the cranberries and the orange. Plus, they’re pretty easy to make and looked very pretty too even though it’s a little hard to see in this photo. I’ll absolutely make these again!
