I’ve actually never had Bananas Foster before and since I enjoy setting desserts on fire I thought it might be fun to try. Plus, it’s super easy and quick!
Basically you just cook the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt – cooking this until the butter melts. Then you’ll add the bananas and banana liquor (I used the instructions in the recipe for a substitute since we don’t have banana liquor). Cook this for about a minute and then pour in the run (not from the bottle!) and light it! Swirl the pan gently and then let it go until the flame goes out and serve!
I love banana splits so I really liked the way this tasted. My bananas were a little riper than they probably should have been so a few didn’t hold their shape as well, but it was fun to make and great on ice cream.
