I thought finding something for X and Z would be difficult. While X was a little challenging there were quite a few baked goods that start with Z on my original potential recipe list. Time constraints ended up deciding to try this recipe.

This is really going to be a quick post because the recipe itself is quite easy. You mix together the egg yolks and the sugar until the sugar is dissolved and it’s a nice bright yellow color. Then you whisk in the marsala wine, a pinch of salt, and then slowly cook this mixture over a double boiler until it reaches 145-150F.

I’ve had the little glasses you see in the picture forever and rarely make anything that will go in them, so I was excited to use this for this recipe! We didn’t have any fresh berries in the house so we ate ours with lady fingers – which was delicious. It had a really nice flavor, though it’s quite boozy and sweet so a little goes a long ways. It’s a beautiful dessert and felt very cozy so I imagine it would be a great winter dessert.
