We grew up eating Chocolate Revel Bars and I thought I had made them here before but apparently not. I happened to see these Dulce de Leche Revel Bars and thought they’d be a fun spin on what we’ve had before.
This is a really easy recipe and is great if you want to throw something together with little time. Basically you slowly mix the ingredients together and then put half the mixture into the bottom of a 9×9 pan (I used 8×8 since that was all I had). Honestly putting the mixture into the pan is the hardest part. I’ve always had issues with this part since the batter is so sticky. I tried spraying a spatula but that didn’t really work as well as I’d hoped.
Once you’ve got that done then heat the can of dulce de leche in a microwave safe bowl and pour it over the mixture. Then you’re supposed to be able to put the rest of the mixture on top but again, I’ve always had issues here. First, it always seems like I have less mixture for the top than the bottom. Maybe my bottom layer should be less thick? I’ve found the easiest thing to do is scoop of the mixture on top and don’t try to cover the whole thing perfectly.
These were very good! A little messy because of the dulce de leche but worth it! All 10s for this recipe and while I love chocolate revel bars these are great to change things up sometimes.
