I’ve never really been a fan of chocolate chip cookies unless they’re straight out of the oven, but this pie is everything I love about a warm cookie in pie form. It’s like pecan pie meets chocolate chip cookie and when it’s warm and topped with vanilla ice cream it’s delicious.
The good thing is, it’s super easy too. I’ve used a couple of different recipes in the past, but they’re all fairly similar. It doesn’t take more than a glance at this recipe to see how easy it is; there are only five steps! We generally opt to use store bought pie crusts unless I’m doing something really crazy and try to keep a few in the freezer just in case. 🙂
This is a great recipe and a delicious pie and it well warrants 10 out of 10 in all categories below! Occasionally I’ll splurge and put bourbon in this pie and I think that’s what the original version of this pie calls for – but it’s not always necessary. If you do choose to use bourbon I’d recommend using another recipe as just adding some in can throw off the recipe, but regardless of which recipe you choose, this pie is delicious and sure to be a hit!
