After my failed attempt at the Poppyseed and Lemon Cake I was a little apprehensive to try another Great British Bake-off recipe, but after a disappointing dinner we wanted to finish the evening off strong.
In full disclosure, I had no idea what sables were before today. Apparently they’re the french version of shortbread cookies. They were incredibly easy to make and required such a small amount of ingredients that I was convinced they wouldn’t turn out right or taste good; I was wrong.
Just a tip: these cookies are very delicate so be careful moving them to a baking dish before and after baking. While not too sweet, I imagine these cookies would be great with afternoon tea and I paired it with Harney & Sons Vanilla Comoro tea.
