Every once in a while I get in the mood for those little powdered sugar donuts so when I ran across this recipe I thought it would be fun to try.
It’s pretty simple, you mix together the dry ingredients and set them aside. Then, in a bigger bowl you’ll whisk together the wet ingredients. Just grab a whisk or spatula and give it a good mix until it looks smooth. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet, making sure not to overmix.
Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe into a prepared donut pan about 3/4 full. Let these bake for about 10 minutes and then let them cool briefly before getting them out. While they’re still warm you’ll drop these into a ziplock bag (one at a time) with the powdered sugar and shake. Then let these cool on a wire rack.
These looked pretty cute and they tasted okay, but if you’re expecting something like those powdered sugar donuts sold in the stores then you’ll be disappointed. They’re not nearly as sweet (which is probably a good thing) and I found there wasn’t as much powdered sugar as the picture so maybe I should have brushed in butter first. Regardless, it was a fun treat and worth making!
