I prefer Oatmeal Raisin cookies, but my husband does not like raisins, so when I’m in the mood for oatmeal cookies I usually just do an oatmeal chocolate chip. I’ve tried a few recipes in the past, but decided to try this one from King Arthur this time and this particular recipe was their 2015 Recipe of the Year.
Like most cookie recipes, you start by creaming the butter and sugar, then you add the eggs (1 egg/1 yolk) and vanilla. You’ll add the dry ingredients and then stir this into the wet ingredients. Add in the chocolate chips and stir until mixed.
I love that this recipe gives you multiple options for cookie size as sometimes I want small and other times I want bigger. I went with a bigger cookie scoop and pulled them out right around 15 minutes, but I think I should have pulled them out of the oven a little earlier so they were a little chewier in the middle. They were very good, but I think that would have made them even better. Notes for next time…
Excellent cookies and super easy! We love Chick-Fil-A’s cookies and this reminded us of those just a little.
