Old School Dinner Rolls

I think this is the first time I’ve made rolls, which is kind of hard to believe. I love rolls (all bread really) and these looked delicious so I thought I’d give them a try.

If you’ve read the commentary on any of the bread recipes I’ve tried before you’ll know they make me nervous. Mainly because you can get all the way through the process (which is generally lengthy because of rise times) and find out something went wrong. While they can be a little nerve wracking, they’re also pretty simple and this recipe is no exception.

You basically mix together all of the ingredients and then using a stand mixer knead it. Then you’ll let it rise for 1-2 hours; however there’s a note stating that you can let it sit in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Since I wanted these for Sunday lunch I made them the night before and let them sit in the fridge over night.

The next morning I got up and cut the dough and then rolled it into little balls. You’ll roll lightly in melted butter and then let the rolls rise again before popping them into the oven.

These were seriously delicious. I marked everything as a 10 except the time spent and that’s just because of the rise time. Honestly if you made these the night before and let them do a slow rise in the fridge overnight then it really doesn’t take that long. They looked beautiful and I would absolutely make these again!
